Telehealth Therapy

Telehealth is the use of electronic devices for telecommunications to extend care when both parties aren’t in the same place at the same time.
The appropriate age of a telehealth client is at the discretion of our therapist.
Telehealth can serve as an occasional option for those who desire consistency
but need an alternative option to in person therapy.
Telehealth sessions are just like in-person sessions and must be treated as such. This requires both parties to have a safe, quiet, and secure HIPAA-compliant area.
At Healing Hearts, our therapists choose their own HIPAA-compliant platforms that work best for their therapeutic methods.
No session can begin without a telehealth consent form on file.
Please note:
All parties in the room must be identified.
HHMHT policy is that at no time are sessions (in-person or telehealth) to be recorded without prior consent from all parties. Even though legal, secretly recording sessions is a breach of trust and can cause damage to the client-therapist relationship, and a violation of privacy and confidentiality.
If in a vehicle, it must not be in motion.
Have a working mic & camera.
Use headphones to increase security.
You can use cellphones, tables, laptops, and desktops.
If there is a connection issue call reception.
If you have a low bandwidth, telehealth may not be an option for therapy.
Best Practice- sign in 5-10min prior to your appointment to troubleshoot any tech issues.
Warning: No electronic communication is 100% secure. Please take this into consideration.
